— Tyler McVicker (@Tyler_McV) December 8, 2022 As the above tweet indicates, it could be a full-blown reveal, including the pricing, gameplay and new additions that the DLC will bring to the game. Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a massive resurgence following the release of the acclaimed anime series Cyberpunk Edgerunners based on the game. Other than that, the continuous dedication of developers to fixing the bugs and technical issues that made the game a disaster at launch helped change the players’ perception towards Cyberpunk 2077. And the TV show just worked as a booster to attract players back to experience the life of Night City again. In April 2022, CD Projekt Red teased a new expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, and on September 6, 2022, it was confirmed that the new DLC Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will be the only expansion for the game. It was also confirmed that it will be next-gen exclusive (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC), leaving Xbox One and PlayStation 4 behind with Update 1.6 as the last major update on the respective last-gen platforms. While the release date (only a 2023 release window is confirmed) and in-depth synopsis of Phantom Liberty are still unknown, CDPR has confirmed that the story will take place in an all-new district in the Night City that was not explorable previously. Keanu Reeves’s Johnny Silverhand will also be making a comeback, and a new line of characters will be introduced. All the major overhauls and upgrades suggest that it will be a paid DLC, and CDPR has also not stated otherwise. However, the exact pricing of the expansion is yet to be revealed. And all these details will most likely be revealed at The Game Awards, according to the tweet mentioned earlier. However, as there is no official confirmation or statement from CD Projekt Red, it will be wise to take this news with a grain of salt and fans are advised to keep their expectations in check as TGA’s host Geoff Keighley has already confirmed that this year’s Game Awards event will be much shorter as compared to previous years. But this does not entirely confirm that there will be no major announcements or reveals at the event. That’s pretty much it, and it was all that we managed to gather about Cyberpunk’s Phantom Liberty. We will keep you posted upon receiving any further valuable information about the DLC or Cyberpunk 2077. Until then, let us know your thoughts about this?
